I'm officially a Colorado resident!!!  There were a few packing moments where I was regretting my decision, but now I'm extremely happy to be here.  Of course, you can always expect a few crazy adventures in my world.

My parents had decided that they could bring a truck and 20 ft. trailer from Kansas.  On Thursday morning they departed from Hoisington.  As they were going through Tulsa, the truck started 'chugging'.  After locating a Dodge dealership, they were told that the transmission was not going to make it any further.  So, they rented a car and drove to Memphis in a rental car (they could return it to MEM without extra fees).  The wonderful Alex Taylor picked them up while Ashley Taylor assisted me in packing.

The next morning we loaded a 17' UHaul.  Let's just say that I don't think a single additional item could have fit in that UHaul.  Thanks to the help of some amazing friends, we were able to head to Kansas by 8:30 Saturday morning.  In Tulsa we hooked the empty trailer on to the truck and continued on home.  Imagine the sight of a 17' UHaul pulling a 20' trailer.  The truck is still at the Tulsa Dodge dealership.

Sunday morning my mom and I headed to Denver.  After a day of looking at numerous apartments, I finally made a decision.  The one I chose is close to work.  It only took 5 minutes of driving in Denver traffic to know that this is incredibly important to me.  I already miss Oxford traffic (sans big game weekends).

Heading West

After nearly six years in Oxford, MS I am packing up a lot of great memories (and tons of stuff) and heading west to Denver.  I find that this has been a geography lesson for a number of my southern friends.  Most were aware that I wanted to move closer to home, but few realized that Kansas borders Colorado and Denver is less than 6 hours from my hometown.  See, Kansas isn't so bad!!

At a recent bon voyage party on campus my dear friend Casey said that I needed to figure out a way to share my adventures.  So, Casey, this is for you...and all my girls in Mississippi (and everywhere else).  You can choose if you want to share it with the boys or not!
